I quickly took a screen shot so that when I wake up tomorrow I'll know it really happened. Celia and the Fairies, my middle grade fiction, published in English, is currently ranked third on the Amazon Kindle bestseller list in Germany.
Why did this happen? I honestly don't know. I've heard that Germany is a big market for translated American books, and I also know that many Europeans speak fluent English (putting Americans to shame in the foreign language department), but I have no idea why my story about a little girl who sees fairies in the woods behind her home is doing so well right now.
But I'll take it.

Thanks Sophia! I took German in high school and have forgotten most of it (sorry, Frau Friedrich!) but I think Glückwünsche literally means "lucky wishes," which is a delightful way to say congratulations.
Hey Mark--thanks for your kind words. I actually solved the mystery of how this happened just this morning when the book came up during a Google search as the German Kindle Deal of the Day. So it's not entirely deserved, but it's wonderful nonetheless.

When I was writing poetry and short stories (especially poetry doesn't go out to the general public much), I always hoped it would be read by those who liked it and understood it (making collages for the art scene is a different kind of bear altogether), as I loved and understood the authors whom I liked - and see, just by getting your work out there, this is happening to you!
